Suzanne Haerther has parlayed a BA in Interior Design and a BS in Elementary Education into 12 years of experience in management and leadership positions. Her career has included IT project management, facility management, office design work, before and after care for school age children, and volunteer management. Her community involvement over the last 20 years has included the Junior League of St. Petersburg, Ronald McDonald House, and the U.S. Green Building Council. As chair of the Green Schools Committee for the USGBC Florida Gulf Coast Chapter, she coordinated the chapter project of completing a LEED for Existing Building Operations and Maintenance Certification for a School, the first in the state of Florida. In September of 2012, she moved to Atlanta. While in Georgia, she has worked for the U. S. Green Building Council, Georgia Community and Epsten Group. She continues working with Green Schools projects both on the local and national level working toward the mission of a green school for every child within this generation. In her spare time, she enjoys walking and biking with her 16 year-old daughter and exploring Atlanta with her husband and family.
